| Fur and war
have become unfashionable, unsaleable and unprofitable.
Killing people is dead. Killing creatures is fast fading. Killing time
is, a great occupation.
Time needs to be killed, or wasted in style. We have a huge surplus of
it. Some kill time going round in circles in racing cars or on foot,
with sticks searching for holes. Others prepare the circles for the
people to go round in circles. Some make balls for people to hit or
kick.
Balls are an excellent waste of time.
The front cover entitled “Fishing” is by “Roberto Masi” the Florentine
artist who visited Malta briefly in 1988, at the invitation of Tonio
Ganado, and left a wealth of his brilliant work on the island, now in
private collections.
This painting depicts the killing of time, rather than fish, the concept
is the consumption of time not food.
The properties included in this issue have been lavished with much time
killed in the pursuit of beauty, a great occupation.
